On June 21st, 2025, Tsinghua Youth Connect (TYCon) hosted its third NYC City Meetup with vibrant rooftop barbecue that brought together over 40 members of the Gen2 community, marking our largest gathering yet. Part of TYCon’s core City Meetup series, the event reflected our mission to foster authentic, in-person connections among the children of Tsinghua alumni through inclusive and engaging programs.
With stunning views of the East River and Manhattan skyline, the afternoon featured beloved cultural favorites like milk tea and Korean BBQ. Attendees ranged from college summer interns and graduate students to seasoned professionals, creating a lively, intergenerational atmosphere. We were thrilled to welcome many first-timers, most of whom heard about the event through their parents. Special thanks to the young Gen1 guests who joined and added to the diversity of the community.
The June gathering followed two successful NYC meetups in January and May, continuing to build momentum and deepen local engagement. One first-time attendee who had never connected with the Tsinghua Gen2 community before shared, “I came not knowing anyone and left with new friends and a sense of community.” So parents, keep spreading the word!
A big thank you to our local organizers: Rachel Ding, Vincent Zhou, Jenn Huo, and Richie Lou.
