TYCon Philly Meetup Recap: A Night of Skating, Connection, and Community

On February 7, 2025, the TYCon Philadelphia City Meetup brought together members of the Tsinghua Gen2 community for an unforgettable evening of ice skating and dinner in the heart of Philadelphia. Hosted at the Blue Cross RiverRink Winterfest at Penn’s Landing, the event welcomed 15 attendees, including students, young professionals, and parents.

The night began with ice skating under the city lights, where seasoned skaters and first-timers alike glided across the rink and enjoyed the festive atmosphere. Some attendees received coaching from an experienced skating coach, adding an extra layer of fun and skill-building to the evening, while others enjoyed catching up with old and new friends.

After skating, the group took a short stroll to Han Dynasty in Old City, a renowned Sichuan-style restaurant, where lively conversation continued over a delicious family-style meal. Attendees exchanged stories, connected with familiar and new faces, and discussed future gatherings for the TYCon community such as the Second Tsinghua Youth Convention in May 2025.

The TYCon Philly Meetup was a great opportunity to bring together Tsinghua second-generation members and their families, helping foster deeper bonds within the community. A big thank you to everyone who joined us and we greatly look forward to seeing even more faces at our next gathering!
